Protect yourself from fraud or undue influence

When is it Right?

We are available to manage those tasks for those who can no longer do it themselves. The need for personal assistance with everyday activities increases with age. Elder abuse is on the rise and dementia is the greatest risk factor of elder mistreatment. One of every 20 elderly people will be a victim of neglect or physical, psychological or financial abuse this year. Adults over 65 make up an estimated 12% of California residents. By the year 2020, the number of elderly in California is expected to double to 6.6 million.

Santa Barbara Fiduciary When is it right

The senior population is an overwhelming target for telemarketing scams, lottery and sweepstakes scams, contractor scams and identity theft. Decreased mobility, physical disability and cognitive impairment make them vulnerable to exploitation, abuse by caregivers and, sadly enough, family members as well.

If you suspect your loved one is being mistreated or has fallen victim to undue influence or fraud, please call Adult Protective Services of Santa Barbara County first at 805.681.4550. Then call us for further assistance in stabilizing and protecting your family member.
